Design Topic 5: A Garden Party

Fri Jun 27, 2008, 5:44 PM
(Click here for Elimination + Critique)

Welcome designers and observers to project designer Cycle 7! It takes a keen eye and great taste to keep the rich and famous (and the not so rich and famous) looking fabulous—which is why gifted designers can become just as paparazzi-worthy as their clientèle. Now that I'm on the prowl for "the" new look, 14 hopefuls will get a shot showing off their fashion chops and "kick- starting" their career.

BRIEF: For your next challenge I'd like for you to pick a flower and then to create a party dress inspired by that flower. Sounds simple right? Correct. However I want to see something extravagant and creative; something Avant Garde. This challenge is all about taking a simple & typical inspiration and turning it around to create something interesting and innovative.

The deadline for submissions is July 5th 12:00 P.M. Central or ASAP before then. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Good luck! (:

MODELS: Now it's time for you to choose your models. The winner of the last challenge gets to pick his or her model first, and then the next person who gets here can pick. If the girl you wants gets picked, then choose another and leave it as a comment. Here are models available for choosing: [link] Models that are not picked by any designer will not be able for future challenge use.

congratulations ~Kar-tastic! it was a great design :)

this seems like an awesome challenge; i'm really excited. flowers are one of my favourite things to draw. do we have to say here which flower we're picking?

and, this might not be right, but people were doing it in the last challenge...so, uhm, models. could i have hilary, and if ~Kar-tastic picks her, ashlie? thanks! :D

american love. like coke in green glass bottles, they don't make it anymore.
:iconcjrogers1993:
no you don't have to tell me here what flower you choose. it's okay if you guys have the same flower.

I have always tried to design things that are unapologetically beautiful, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. If I can inspire an appreciation for grace and elegance, that would be the ultimate fulfillment of my life's ambition.

Congratulation ~Kar-tastic! Well-deserved. :D

Anyway, could I have July?
If Kari picks her, Hana please?
Thanks!

Fashion, a passion that borders on obsession
It is not something that exists in dresses only.
It is in the sky, in the street, everywhere.
:iconmadstar:
I never got a note about judging. What happened with that?

As you know! In fashion! As well as in sex! Sometimes you're in! And sometimes you're out!
:iconkar-tastic:
